Get those hands clapping. In April we bring the joy of the Feria de Abril to Scotland with several events that bring together great Andalusian cinema, food, drinks and music.
The South of Spain, more than any other European region, is built upon myths and folkloric traditions. We are proud to present a series of film screenings celebrating the magic of Andalusia beyond flamenco dancers and Easter processions.
Light, colour, and a lot of joy. Every year, Sevilla is taken over by its ‘Feria de Abril’, the fair of all fairs, a microcosm where the idiosyncrasy of the city unfolds with all its charm and power of seduction. So as the prophet said: “If the Mountain won’t go to Mohammed, then Mohammed must come to the Mountain”- this year CinemaAttic brings you the Feria de Abril to Scotland!
The film season includes two short film nights showing new trends in new Andalusian cinema including non-fiction, comedy, animation or essay film and the Scottish Premiere of David Martin de los Santos’ award-winning first feature LA VIDA ERA ESO (That as life) – an emotional tale of two generations of Spanish women that had to emigrate and leave their country in search for opportunities (portrayed by Anna Castillo and Petra Martinez)-.
We have perspectives that cover the whole Andalusian region, from Almeria to Cadiz, from Seville to Malaga to Granada.
