CinemaAttic is bringing its brand of unique film events to Craigmillar Library as part of a new film club partnership. The film club’s first screening is a short film night on Thursday 25th May at 5pm. The screening features four superb short films who have featured in film festivals across the world. These films are rarely seen in the UK and we are honoured to bring them to Craigmillar Library for a fun night celebrating all things film.

Each generation has to face changes in their lifetime. This is new to human beings. Things didn’t change so fast in the times of our ancestors as they do now. Some people see this as an opportunity to improve our communities, our approach to the environment, gender and social justice.
Courage is needed for change to happen. To get out of the comfort zone into a new order. And it is needed to get there, the result is more plural communities without discrimination or unfair treatment to anyone.
The films we offer in this programme show the achievements we all as a collective have managed so far and also, the benefits those achievements bring to us as individuals but also at a community level.
“Elsa and Franceska” represents the advances in gender acceptance and inclusion. “Tryouts” deals with racial discrimination and “Transtierro” with solitude. And then “Timecode”. This last film deals with the importance of daring to follow your path in life.
