Obaba is a 2005 Spanish drama film directed by Montxo Armendáriz, based on the great novel by Bernardo Atxaga Obabakoak: Stories from a Village.

A young Barbara Lennie, today one of the most requested Spanish actresses working for Carlos Vermut, Jaime Rosales, Sorogoyen or in the last film by Asghar Farhardi Everbody Knows.

In the small Basque town of Obaba, university student Lourdes films a documentary for an assignment. As she records the locals’ stories, she comes to understand not only the eccentric villagers and the mysteries of Obaba, but also more of herself.
