Original Title: Los restos del pasar

Directors: LUIS (SOTO) MUÑOZ Y ALFREDO PICAZO

Country: Spain

Year: 2023

Duration: 83

The Trail Left by Time is a film that drifts between fiction and non-fiction, told with stunning sensitivity and a poetic realism reminiscent of the most lyrical and folkloric Carlos Saura. It follows a man who, in what feels like his final breath, recalls an Easter Week from his childhood in the village where he grew up; seven days that shaped the adult he would become. Through an intimate tone and a powerful soundtrack, the film allows its evocative images and music to speak for themselves. It reflects on the essence of a place: the meaning of its customs and beliefs, its rituals around life and death, the delicate balance between individual and collective memory, and the inevitable transience of all that inhabits us.

This event is part of the Latin Connections Film Festival in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy of the United Kingdom.
