It is the diasporic journey of a daughter coming to terms with the figure of her mother to find her true self outside the asphyxiating confines of her country of origin while attempting a healing return which is physical and psychological. Love, frustration, dependency, expectations, cultural clash, harm and self-harm are elements that construct this 1985 film that beautifully inaugurated the subjective turn in documentary in Peru.
