ECA Animation turns 30!  Fundraising Night

It’s been 4 years since ECA Animation and CinemaAttic started a ‘beautiful and long lasting relationship’ that has brought some of the greatest Spanish & Latin American animators to share their knowledge with animation students in Edinburgh. Colombian animation pioneer Carlos Santa, Spanish multi awarded Alberto Vazquez, Mexican talent Alexandra Castellanos to name only a few…

In 2020, ECA Animation celebrates its 30th anniversary and CinemaAttic turns 10 years old so we thought… Let’s celebrate it together!

This event is aimed at supporting the work of Scottish emerging talent, celebrating great animation and serving as a fundraising opportunity for ECA Animation students. Once basic costs are covered, all the money raised will go to help students to prepare their Degree Show.

Half of the evening will be dedicated to a selection of our favourite 10x10x17 short animations made as part of the 2020 edition. The themes for this year are “30 years” and “Leaving Europe” – surely there’s going to be some interesting animations around that topic -. The other half of the programme will celebrate some of ECA Animation alumni’s most relevant works (Ainslie Henderson, Will Anderson, Lizzy Hobbs and many others…)

It’s a night for celebration! A ridiculously cheap ticket and CinemaAttic have a bar full of Mediterranean beer to celebrate that we both ECA Animation and Cinemaattic are getting old.

This event is part of Cinemaattic focus on Animation this March. The next day (Friday 13th) in the same venue, CinemaAttic has prepared a showcase of Animated films from Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Spain or Portugal and is an absolute Must-See! They are also offering students a reduced ticket.
