CHILE 50 YEARS ON

On September 11, 1973, Chile experienced a cataclysmic disruption of democracy and a devastating violation of human rights when General Augusto Pinochet led a coup. This event has left a profound impact on the lives of many Chileans and this month marks its 50th anniversary. During the despotism of Pinochet, thousands of individuals were subjected to torture, forced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings, leaving long-lasting scars in our society. Nevertheless, the resilience and strength of the Chilean people has enabled us to progress since those days of darkness.
