Yes amigos, we reopen the attic for one night only. The space where everything started.

– “Where is that attic? Does it still exist? Why don’t you do a cinemaattic up there?” – These have been the most repeated questions we had to face from our audience in the last four years. Now, after long diplomatic negotiations with the current attic owners, we are thrilled to present a one night only event where everything started: The Attic. It has remained closed for 5 long years. Far too long. We are dying to live a night in the attic with you.
We present an eclectic night of cultural subversion, live music and uncanny shorts in the ever celebrated and mysterious Attic in Victoria Street.

You should expect

– A quirky programme of Shorts (really quirky)

– Acoustic concert by Pau Vallve! Catalan artist/indie phenomenon joins us all the way from Barcelona

– A DJ set afterwards

ATTIC SESSIONS – PAU VALLVE CONCERT

11._Pau_Vallve_A___Foto_de_Cris_RomagosaCatalan multi-instrumentalist and indie phenomenon Pau Vallve joins us for a special acoustic concert. After a tour made up of 90 concerts with his last album (Pels dies bons, 2014) including a European tour which featured in a 14-episode documentary series released a few months ago, he is back on stage again with a new album and a new band.

Pau Vallvé is a central figure in a new breed of Catalan artists and has both friend and family connections on the music scene. Vallvé’s cousin is Arnau Vallvé, a member of the hit-band Manel, one of the most popular on the Catalan scene.

SHORT FILMS

A showing of punk short-films specially curated to be enjoyed up in the roof. We propose divergent narratives and experimental films that range from politico-philosophical video essays to quirky animation films.

When did all these screens invade our daily life? When did politics become this infamous mediatized show?

Why there are no doormen in buildings in UK? We invite you to discover the long tradition of the “portero”(doorman) by diving in some of Barcelona’s most iconic porterias

Do you miss the VHS? And what about fanzines?

live at the attic

SCAT Attic Party. This may be the only chance to live a cinemaattic back in the attic.

It will run 8pm to 12.30am and if we feel like partying we will move to a different place. This is a mandatory requirement by the current tenants so lets be nice with them.

Gentle reminder to those new to the attic. This venue is in a private residence. We are so grateful to its current occupants for letting us use it again and we expect everyone to behave accordingly. Access to the attic is through a narrow hatch, so up the ladder and through the hatch. No toilet facilities at the attic but we can use those in the flat.

#SCAT18

Scotland Catalan Film Festival. A festival organised by Cinemaattic. Catalan productions have once again topped film festivals around the world and it’s time to gather some of those in Glasgow. CCA Glasgow, GFT and University of Glasgow host a new edition of SCAT18. The festival is supported by Institut Ramon Llull and Estrella Damm.
