September marks the beginning of our season. We stop during July and August to rest, to catch up with the programme and because our young kids deserve to have a memory of their parents playing with them.
No one knows, or put too much effort in finding out, which edition is this. We guess we will hit our 16th anniversary along the season but who cares. Cinemaattic is back! With 4 short film sessions a month and then a lot more all the way till next summer.
We start with a programme edging on irreverence to our holy holy traditions where religious belief is just one ingredient of a much busier cocktail. Where kids play to be martyrs (MARTYR GIRL) or the congregation, tired of the old icons look for new ones (LIONEL). All of it with a big dose of humor and even looking at much older beliefs like in AQUERONTE and EVEN THOUGH IT’S NIGHT TIME (Goya winner 2024). But then we got much further, into territory that has not been chartered yet, we need your help to classify ALEGRIAS RIOJANAS by Velasco Broca. We open with this film full of irreverence, surrealism and impossible characters. Helps us!!!
Also Colombian family business, SABOR AL TOQUE, will be serving up delicious Colombian food! 🍺🥙
