SYNOPSIS

Northern Argentina. Carnivals. During a dance show touring with her partner, Monica realises the absurdity of a journey that reveals the distance between them after 25 years together. Together they embark on a tour of the Andes, in an attempt to save the relationship by clinging to a promise: “I won’t stop loving what’s left of you.”

What do they do there? Dancing for what, for whom? Nobody asked them to be there. And yet there they are, isolated, adrift. The distance between them reveals the unreality of a longing that no longer exists. The landscape, the women of the altiplano and the deep loneliness immerse Monica in a mixture of desires, fears, illusion and memories and reflections – that will give her the strength to take her own path.

Sometimes loving means knowing how to let go, and DUO is a powerful portrait of the inexplicable love, anger and frustration that goes on in stagnant relationships in which the Andean landscapes present as a metaphor of a relationship that no longer rises or falls.
