Short Film continues to be at the heart of the festival. Once again we bring together our favorite Catalan Shorts of the year. It’s the house specialty, so make sure you don’t miss our 2020 Official Selection Programmes I and II and our Shorts Retrospectives.
In this programme (Catalan Shorts 2020 Selection II) we gather a selection of fascinating character driven short films. We follow them in silence, when they dance and when they listen music. We are there with them when they dream and when they explode – also when they shave -. Keep an eye on one of our favorite Latin American actresses, Paulina Garcia starring in the Tribeca Film Festival-selected Vera. You will find a particular presence of directors coming up from Barcelona’s prestigious film school ESCAC, strong emerging talent with a peculiar sense of humor and climax. Special mention deserves young director Carmen Aumedes that has not one but two films in the Official Selection, both sharing an interest on ‘the foreigner point of view”. Cry, laugh, shout, dance, all at once if you want. We promise an emotional rollercoaster!
