We are over the moon to announce for the first time in Scotland a Performance by Sra Polaroiska, LUR AWAY.
Sra Polaroiska, group formed by Alaitz Arenzana and María Ibarretxe, is an art collective that blurs the boundaries between experimental film, video-dance and performance.
LUR AWAY // Choreographic installation Performance
A room full of people. Anything can happen. Survive?
Even surviving is a multidisciplinary art that requires knowledge and different skills. We want you to know that you are very important for us, which is why we want to share these survival skills with you. These techniques will enable you to deal with life, recognise and make use of its resources as well as avoiding its dangers. But let’s not fool ourselves; nobody is totally prepared to deal with the violent emotional and mental shock resulting from finding oneself abandoned and all alone. Even though survival techniques can help us defeat the environment, the worst enemy is within ourselves.
SRA POLAROISKA
Mrs. Polaroiska flees from conventional narrative structures and concepts closed to the viewer. Their work, intentionally ambiguous, plays with the roles associated with the body, destabilizing the gaze of the observer, forcing him to position himself in what he is seeing. The viewer immerses himself completely in their world, in the space they have created. A space however open, in which there are multiple interpretations, as many as the looks that have observed what happened around them.
