Latin Connections short film programme brings you six films about what people build when the world wasn’t built for them. A boat. A sculpture. A safe. A beauty salon. Architecture, clothing, the body, discarded objects. Nothing here is without meaning and in the hands of these protagonists, nothing stays as it was.
Join us for a night with friends great food, short films, and maybe even a surprise performance!

The Programme:
THE CANON I 2024 I Martin Seeger I Fiction I Chile
Jean, a Haitian migrant in Chili, is admired everywhere he goes. His body represents all the classical values of the academy. However, in the anonymity of his existence, he is also a canon of marginality.
GALUS GALUS I 2013 I Clarissa Duque I Animation I Venezuela
THE EUCALYPTUS I 2023 IÂ Ignacio Ragone & Nicolas Suarez I Documentary I Argentina
A home movie in the ruins of modernity. From modernist architecture to tarot reading, from film history to noise pollution, and from treasure hunting to domestic furniture. Like a cinematic domino, The Eucalyptus flows as a stream of consciousness in which the very mention of a place, event, object or small adventure can roll out a universe. And this one, in turn, another. And so on…
ESTÉTICA UNISEX I 2022 I Alvaro Acosta I Documentary I Peru
The lives of three trans women converge through Mishell’s memories. From the city of Huancayo to the Atta alley in Puno, Peru, the memory comes with music, dance and also death.
THE MOON WILL CONTAIN US I 2023 I Kim Torres I Experimental I Costa Rica
As a magical moon creeps in the twilight, different timelines entwine in the town of Manzanillo, located in the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The youth and the elderly unite and collide in a tale where the town is able to exist as it is: both beautiful and abandoned, mysterious and monotonous. As if in a dream or a memory, mixing a documentary style and science fiction, this story is a search for the complexities of what it means to grow up in a place like Manzanillo.
